You may be a candidate for pain management at Elation Physical Therapy if you have an acute or chronic pain condition. The therapists specialize in all types of pain conditions, including those caused by the following:

  • Herniated or bulging discs in the spine

What happens during a pain management evaluation?

When you visit Elation Physical Therapy for a pain management evaluation, you can expect a comprehensive initial assessment. The goal of your initial exam is to fully understand your pain condition and how it affects your physical health and function.

Your physical therapist will review your medical history and ask detailed questions about your pain. They will also inquire about your daily activities and how your pain affects your ability to manage your day-to-day responsibilities. A detailed physical exam, assessing your body’s muscle strength, balance, mobility and flexibility will also most likely be completed.

What are pain management treatments?

The team at Elation Physical Therapy customizes your pain management treatment plan based on your diagnosis, symptoms, and functional goals. Your plan may include:

  • In-office or virtual physical therapy

  • Manual therapy

  • Home exercise and stretching programs

  • Aquatic therapy

  • Blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy

  • Dry needling

  • Electric stimulation

The goal of your plan is to ease your pain, restore mobility and function, and prevent a recurrence in your pain condition.

Your physical therapist works one-on-one with you, scheduling regular visits each week for several weeks until you reach your goals.
